For One Chicago 2009
On October 17, nearly 650 volunteers from 12 different churches went out to over 35 sites across the city to particpate in For One Chicago.
For One Chicago is annual event where Park partners with different churches to spend a day out in differerent neighborhoods to help renew the city of Chicago.
This year the event kicked off at Park's Near North Campus with a worship from a team from City Church.
From there, small groups, friends and strangers worked side-by-side on various projects ranging from painting, gardening, construction and cleaning.
One participant said, "I came out today because I wanted to show Christ’s light to a community that might not be able to see it on an everyday basis. Coming out here, helping in any way we can is the least we can do for all Christ has done for us.”
Organizers of For One Chicago hope that the experience of being out in the community will be a catalyst for people to get more engaged with the different organizations and ministries that do this vital work every single day.

what if we served more than one day a year, and what makes you say that a community doesnt see the christ's light other when you are out there.
