First of all, welcome to Chicago!

No matter where you've come from we understand that moving to Chicago can be a challenge and we'd love to help you get better acclimated with the city. Chicago can be overwhelming at times... the traffic, people, the CTA… but we promise you'll make it and learn to love Chicago as much as we do.

Here's some links you might find helpful as you learn to navigate the city:

CTA Trip Planner - if you need to know how to get from point A to point B on public transportation, the CTA Trip Planner will be a lifesaver. Bookmark it now. Simply type in where you are and where you want to go (they have many Chicago hot spots already programmed in for your convenience) and it will tell you how to get there by bus or train. Google Maps also offers this feature, when you're searching for directions, just tell Google you want to get there via public transportation.

City of Chicago webpage - everything you ever wanted to know (and probably more than you wanted to know) can be found on the City of Chicago webpage.

City Stickers - if you were brave enough to keep your car, get a city sticker... FAST. 

metromix - want to know what's going on around town? Check out metromix, the complete ‘everything Chicago' site. Check out what's going on around town, restaurants, events, music, movies, theater and more.

Yelp - looking for a great restaurant in your neighborhood but not sure about the dive restaurant down the street? Check out Yelp. It's a great way to find out what other people are saying and a way for you to share your experiences with others!

Neighborhood Map - Chicago has neighborhood pride. One of the first things you'll discover when you meet people is that they will ask you, "Hey, what neighborhooddto you live in?" Take a minute to check out the Chicago neighborhood map and get familiar with the city!

RedEye - necessary reading everyday. Pick up a free copy on your way to the El, or at hundreds of other locations across the city every weekday.
